In the Operating Room Technologist Apprentice role; the apprentices will perform Operating Room Technologist Apprentice duties while studying toward completion of the program; work is guided and overseen by an Operating Room Manager at the assigned hospital location. The apprentice will be considered a team member and will be able to facilitate all aspects of the role, within limits of current training, during surgical procedures providing patient care services appropriate to the age of the patients (ages pediatric through geriatric) served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the OR Team. The apprentice may assist the Surgeon with procedures and treatments as trained and directed. The apprentice is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN.
